Aventurine does not look too pleased about his housing assignment, one hand on his forehead as he glares at the plaque. But then his expression changes, smoothing back out into his usual smile when he spots a familiar face. ]
Hey, Nona! Here to check out who's where?
[ He's also got the number 35 floating around on his cheek. ]
[well. nona's gaze immediately goes to the 35, because that's hard to miss. meanwhile, she's oblivious to the words miracle child projecting above her heart.
she smiles back at aventurine.]
You could say that... I'm guessing this is where you're staying?
All questions of where they've gone vanish as soon as this strange scene unfolds before him. Aventurine watches, silent and focused as the conversation plays out. It's a difficult debate to follow when his own understanding of humanity has warped itself over the years of his lifetime, but then his eyes grow wide as the scene changes, develops, and morphs into the beginnings of someone he's come to know.
At the mention of Nona, he turns to look at his companion with furrowed brows, and as more information gets fed to him, everything pieces itself together. This is undoubtedly a glimpse into Nona's past, and Aventurine takes a step back, as if trying to distance himself with what he's seeing. This is far too personal for him to get involved with, yet there's nowhere to turn to for an escape. He's left with no choice but to witness her realization, her fate, and when this memory finally comes to an abrupt close, he knows too much. ]
Nona...
[ He calls out tentatively, his gaze searching her expression. ]
nona's own expression is complicated as she watches this memory of the past. pained, because it's still not easy to see, grief for something, guilt and regret; there is a kind of acceptance, though, of someone who has come to terms with these things.
but when aventurine calls out to her, she turns to him, giving him an awkward smile.]
Oh. Um... sorry you had to see that. I don't know why this is happening...?
[ It's the sort of reaction that he'd expected from her. After all, he's seen for himself how quick she is to adjust to whatever situation she's placed in, so while this shouldn't come as a surprise, it still manages to strike at his emotions. ]
You don't have to apologize. I shouldn't have seen that.
[ He frowns, concern evident in every part of him. ]
[ While he isn't well-rested, he's gotten some rest since breaking into the lighthouse. He still looks exhausted, and he keeps checking over his shoulder every now and then, but he's at least more like himself than he had been previously.
Wherever Nona is, he finds her and drops a feathered hat on her head from Animal Crossing island. ]
she's probably sitting somewhere, dealing with the weight of watching FRIDAY INVESTIGATION. but when aventurine drops the hat on her, she looks up in surprise.]
Aventurine's conscious, though he still grimaces with pain any time he moves. The combination of feeling like he'd been run over by several trucks as well as being forced to stay in one place is killing him. So, when Nona arrives at his hospital room, he brightens up almost immediately. ]

w4, friday.
How did it turn out this way.
Aventurine's conscious, though he still grimaces with pain any time he moves. The combination of feeling like he'd been run over by several trucks as well as being forced to stay in one place is killing him. So, when Nona arrives at his hospital room, he brightens up almost immediately. ]
Nona...!

How are you feeling, Aventurine? [a beat] You look terrible.
no subject
My head hurts, mostly.
[ He's got an awful migraine that's at least being dulled by some painkillers. ]
I guess it's my turn for the hospital stay.
no subject
There's the spring, if you want it... but I don't think I'm strong enough to carry you there.
